Jammu, Nov 16 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today approved a Rs 40 crore Action Plan for strengthening infrastructure in degree colleges in the state.
The plan envisages upgradation of the existing infrastructure apart from addition of critical requirements in the degree colleges.
It was formulated keeping in view recommendations of the National Accredited Assessment Committee (NAAC).
Approving the Action Plan, the Chief Minister directed completion of the work during the current financial year.
He also directed monitoring of the implementation work by the Minister in-charge and the Administrative Secretary, officials said.
Under the Action Plan, infrastructure development would be carried out in 74 government degree colleges in the state.
Omar also released Rs 45 crore to be utilised by the School Education Department under a similar Action Plan.(PTI)
